Mr. Taho

In the Philippines, we say "ta-ho", referring to a sweet snack made with bean curd, caramelized sugar, and tapioca balls. It is a very popular street food and vendors were a common sight even on city streets. Carrying two aluminum containers suspended on a wooden rod, having taho for an afternoon snack was something my brothers, cousins and I often enjoyed.

Finally someone who knows about cuisine from the Philippines! Many of my stories lose their punch when I refer back to a culturally specific dishes and no one knows what I'm talking about.

Anyways, your illustration is delightful as always and very cute.

That's so sweet! Here we called those guys 'pregoneros' and I admire them a lot because sun down here is terrible.

I'd like to try a ta-ho, too ;)
